About Dr Klix

Dog SUP

When I was growing up, I didn’t know anything about animal chiropractic; my passion was horses. I worked in many different areas of the horse industry trying to find something I could pursue a career in. I guided trail rides, trained young horses, and worked in small and large animal veterinary hospitals. I took just about any job I could find that kept me working with animals.

I strongly considered becoming a veterinarian while working as a vet tech. I had a strong medical background and watching veterinarians heal their patients was fascinating to me. However, after attending a clinic about hoof biomechanics and farrier science, I became much more interested in hoof care and lameness, and I became a farrier.

Farrier Horse

Up until this point, I didn't know animal chiropractic existed, and I was skeptical about chiropractic care for people. One day at farrier school I saw some horses being adjusted by a local veterinarian. The improvement I witnessed after a single adjustment was remarkable. I knew horses, and I knew this was not a placebo effect. I wasn’t exactly sure what I observed that day, but something about it spoke to me, and I had to learn more.

Horseback riding

Over the next few years, I continued to see the positive affect of chiropractic care for my farrier clients, and I became more interested in pursuing it as my next career. As a chiropractor, I could continue doing what I loved (working with animals), continue working with my hands, and provide more comprehensive relief to my patients.

While attending chiropractic school, I discovered treating human patients was very fulfilling for me. I took pride in helping my community and felt privileged to interact with people on such an intimate level. My practice is now centered on providing relief to animals and their humans.
